The MRCOOL® Universal® Series 48K Air Handler is a high-efficiency HVAC solution engineered to deliver consistent, year-round comfort while helping homeowners cut down on energy costs. Designed with installation flexibility in mind, the Universal® 48K supports multiple configurations—including vertical, horizontal, and downflow setups—making it a versatile fit for a wide range of spaces. For added convenience, the unit is compatible with the MRCOOL® NO-VAC® Quick Connect® line set (sold separately), which arrives pre-charged to eliminate the need for vacuuming or flaring—significantly simplifying installation and saving on labor.
The system also supports Universal® Series Heat Kits, offering increased heating capability during cold weather and providing peace of mind with emergency backup heat when needed.
Inside, the air handler is equipped with an advanced M-shaped evaporator coil that maximizes surface area for heat exchange and enhances airflow. Built from 100% aluminum, the coil is corrosion-resistant, ensuring long-term durability with minimal maintenance.
